BOOT CAMP -
Improve your well-being and self-confidence with this stress reliever.
Be prepared to sweat through a series of exercises based on circuit
training that include: cardiovascular and muscle conditioning mixed in
with core strength and balance training and ending with a good stretch
to improve flexibility.
CORE FITNESS - The core is the root of all body movement, and the
key to good posture, balance and strength. This class focuses on
building core strength and flexibility, improving your overall fitness
and making both day-to-day movements and sports-specific movements more
efficient. A stronger core also reduces your risk of lower back pain and
other injuries. You will tone and strengthen primarily your abdominals,
lower back and gluts using stability balls, BOSU balls, medicine balls,
dumbbells and body weight exercises.
FUNCTIONAL FITNESS - A little exercise goes a long way. The
activities in this class are focused on daily active living to maintain
and improve; balance, muscular strength and endurance as well as
stretching.
PILATES - This
mat-based workout is designed to help participants develop longer,
leaner muscles, establish core strength and stability, relieve tension
and improve flexibility. Programming may vary from session to session to
include
small props such as stability balls, BOSU trainers, bands and weighted
balls. Participants interested in the Pilates Mat work classes must take
a 1hr private session before enrolling in these classes. Pilates Mat
work class capacity is 10 participants. Pilates takes place on Tuesday
nights, and Sunday mornings, check our class schedule for more details!
POWER PUMP -
Each "Power Pump" class will be a combination of aerobic and muscle
toning movement designed to improve cardiovascular fitness as well as
muscle tone and endurance. Join me as we use various types of equipment
and levels of intensity to change body composition and become stronger.
If you want to learn, sweat and enjoy watching your body change, this
class is for you. Join us once, twice or three times a week.
TAI CHI & CHI KUNG
– Discover the ancient secrets to longevity and well being hidden in the
Chinese Arts that use energy to heal. Get immediate benefits regardless
of age, health condition or fitness level. Recommended to help cope with
stress, prevent osteoporosis, aid digestion, sleep, nerve function,
respiration and more.
Classes begin September 10, 2007 at Beaches Health Group (Main Floor)

YOGA - A flowing Vinyasa yoga class that draws upon Hatha and
Ashtanga traditions, paying special attention to the needs of the
individual. Focus is on alignment and stamina, making this class an
energizing and physically challenging one. Integration of breath-work
adds a meditative and rejuvenating aspect as well. This 90 min. class
improves balance, strength and flexibility and creates mind/body
awareness. Suitable for all levels.
